Verna Lou Mander, 93, of Arcadia, died October 16, 2012 at Tidewell Hospice in Arcadia. She was born in Ortonville, Minnesota on September 9, 1919; she had been a DeSoto County resident since 2004, coming from Plano, Illinois. Mrs. Mander was a baker for a school cafeteria, and a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Lynn Grindle. Survivors include her husband, Sidney Mander of Arcadia; daughter, Sharon Mander of North Fort Myers; brother, Warren Mundwiler of Rockford, Michigan; granddaughter, Andrea Grindle, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
