Our History

A Trusted Family Name Since 1906

The story of Robarts Family Funeral Home is one of family, tradition, and a commitment to caring for others that has been passed down through generations.

It began in 1906 when William T. Robarts established Robarts Funeral Parlors, beginning a family legacy in funeral service that would continue for more than a century.

Through the years, the Robarts name became associated with compassion, dignity, and personal service. As the family continued its work, each generation contributed to a tradition built upon the belief that caring for families during their most difficult moments is both a responsibility and a privilege.

That legacy continued through Wilfrid T. Robarts and later Dennis Robarts Sr., who established the funeral home in Wauchula, Florida.

As the years passed, Robarts entered a new chapter under the leadership of Summer.

Having spent many years working alongside Dennis, Summer eventually purchased the funeral home from him, taking on the responsibility of preserving its traditions while continuing to build upon them. Under her leadership, the funeral home continued its commitment to providing compassionate, personal care to the families of Wauchula and the surrounding communities.

In time, Summer married William Brett Dowden, whose family also had deep roots in funeral service. Brett later joined her in the business, bringing his own experience, understanding, and dedication to serving families.

Together, Summer and Brett continue to operate Robarts Family Funeral Home as a locally owned, family-operated business, honoring the generations who came before them while building a future rooted in the same compassion and personal service.

And the story continues.

With another generation of the family now involved in the funeral home, the values that began so many years ago remain very much a part of its future.

While funeral service has changed over the generations, the heart of what we do has remained the same.

We believe every life deserves to be honored, every family deserves to be treated with compassion, and every person who walks through our doors deserves to know they are being cared for by people who genuinely care.

Our history is something we are proud of, but it is the families who continue to place their trust in us who give that history its meaning.

As we look toward the future, we remain committed to honoring the generations who came before us while continuing the family tradition of caring for the generations yet to come.

Our family serving your family.
